All Parish Retreat with Fr. Vladimir Aleandro

On Wednesday July 28th St. Nicholas held a parish retreat entitled, “Is the Parish Your World or is the World Your Parish Part II?”  Fr. Vladimir Aleandro, the Dean of the CT Deanery and Matushka Suzanne Aleandro, who are back once again from mission work in Kenya, led the retreat.

This retreat and the question, "is the parish our world or is the world our parish" are very poignant for St. Nicholas parish as we look to build for the sake of our future. Fr. Vladimir and Matushka Suzanne also spoke to us about their experience and work in building a new Orthodox church in Southbury, CT. They answered questions that we had about the building process and the faith it takes to proceed. The retreat began with Vespers at 6:00 p.m. followed by a pot a light luck dinner and then the presentation. It was a wonderful opportunity to help us understand our parish direction for building.
